We are a community-based Sports Medicine fellowship program sponsored by Ascension Providence Hospital of the Ascension Providence Health System, located in the northwest suburbs of Detroit, Michigan.

The fellowship program has been in existence since 1997. We pride ourselves on an individual approach to educating our sports medicine fellow, and we accept one per academic year. Our core faculty is comprised of six Sports Medicine fellowship trained physicians. Our faculty is actively involved with event coverage, scholarly activities, and local/national sports medicine meetings.

We offer rotations in orthopedics, hand/wrist, foot/ankle, spine, radiology, PMR, sports neurology, and cardiology. The fellowship curriculum includes sports medicine grand rounds, journal club, musculoskeletal ultrasound and quality improvement projects and if desired, gross anatomy dissection.

We provide event coverage for Madonna University (Division II NAIA) and several area high schools (Dearborn Divine Child, South Lyon East and Farmington). The fellow also participates in the Detroit Marathon event coverage.

We encourage original research along with participation at national conferences. We are an accredited program through the ACGME.
